World Buiatrics Congress 2016!

The World Buiatrics Congress (WBC) was held in Dublin from 3rd – 8th July 2016 and has been a huge success for RAFT and the Cattle Lameness Academy. Dublin saw 3,000+ professionals from academia, research; general practice, government services and leading animal scientists get together. Buiatrics is the study of cattle and their diseases and the congress certainly provided and an extensive and impressive programme of presentations, posters and events. Both the RAFT and Cattle Lameness Academy teams were well represented and RAFT shared a stand with Fera to promote the new ‘lab to livestock’ service, which received lots of interest. The stand was also supported by Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock (CIEL).

Additionally, Jon Reader and Jonathan Statham gave presentations on sand recycling options for dairy cattle bedding and the growing importance of Veterinary Technicians. RAFT and Cattle Lameness Academy displayed 5 posters in total on a variety of topics. From mycotoxins in cattle food production to prevalence of lameness lesions we had it covered!
